Day 12- Piacenza
Today we started in downtown Piacenza where we did some shopping, mainly for ties. Today we bought twenty ties. I let Katherine buy a handkerchief or two, but we didn't have much money left after buying all those ties.

Next, we visited the Castell' Arquato. This is another castle in which the family still lives. We were not allowed to take any pictures of the inside, just the exterior. We also were required to have a quide.

We stopped at this delicatessen on the way home and bought two wheels of cheese, and a salami. Our salami was confiscated at the Atlanta Airport, but we have been enjoying the cheese.

Our day ended with Andrea and Lucia at a restaurant near Piacenza that specializes in rice dishes. She rice is cooked with different types of cheese, and then either meat, or cabbage, or mushrooms, or something else is added. Spencer had the shoulder of pork. It was really good. I don't know why he is looking so serious.

Thanks for the ties. Brad loves his!
I still dream of pasta the way the italians make it! I'm a tad bit jealous right now!
I had a rice dish when we ate in Bologna (sp?). It was so flavorful and good. It looked like it was going to be disgusting, but it was wonderful.
