July 1, 2006, not officially the first day of summer, but the beginning of many new adventures. What fun will the summer bring? Well, Miriam for one. Miriam moved back home after spending spring term at BYU. She carried all her belongings upstairs and put them inher bedroom. I think she collected too much stuff at BYU. She couldn't even walk into her room, but she did eventually find a place for everything, and it now looks pretty good.
With the ice finally off of the high mountain lakes, it is time to go hiking and fishing.
Greg and I drove to the Ruth Lake Trailhead, and hiked into Ruth Lake and some of the other lakes further west.
Cuthroat Lake is about a mile west of Ruth Lake. The fishing was slow. I caught one eight-inch Brook Trout.
Greg fishing at Cutthroat Lake. From Cuthroat Lake we hiked down to Teal Lake, and then fished the stream below Jewel Lake. We each caught a fish or two in the stream, but they were small. We followed the stream back to Jewel Lake, and then returned to the car past Ruth Lake.

This moose was in the meadow above Jewel Lake.

From the Uintas, wed drove to Grandpa Wallin's birthday party. Grandpa Wallin's birthday was celebrated at Becky and Stewart's house. He received several DVD's and about five gift cards to Home Depot.

Ahh, Ruth Lake. I wish I could take Grace and Isaac there, but I guess it's not going anywhere.

As to five Home Depot gift cards, we give so many gifts in our society that sometimes it's hard to come up with something new that the person actually needs.
