Good Bye, Spencer
On Wednesday October 25, 2006, we drove to the MTC in Provo, Utah where Spencer David Wallin began his two years of full-time missionary service to the Lord. He had been waiting for this day for a long time. We were so happy and excited for him, it was difficult to feel sad.
Since we had been through this process two weeks before, and two previous times in the distant past, we were familiar with it, and it was not as emotionally draining.
After droppinmg off his luggage, we gathered for a picture in front of the main MTC building.
Look out! Once you go through that door, there is no escape!
Katherine was given the honor of placing Spencer's name badge on his suit.
From here, we went into the chapel area, where we were asked to not take any photos. The talks and videos were very similar, if not identical to two weeks ago. After the video, "Called To Serve" was shown, we said good bye, and went our separate ways. No too many tears were shed. As of this posting, we haven't heard from Spencer yet, so we hope he is still alive, and hasn't eaten himself to death. He seemed really excited about all the food that would be available in the MTC Cafeteria. Maybe if Miriam spots him, she will let us know how he is doing.

Thanks for the pictures! I'm glad he got off okay and let us know when you hear from him. We wish we could have been there for the MTC experience.
